Milling kit contents

Both kits contain the same six cutter shapes and sizes. They differ only in coating, which decides what material each kit is for.

Starter Milling Kit $209 DLC coating For aluminum, copper, brass, wood and plastics.

Advanced Milling Kit $249 AlCrN coating For hard metals such as steel, stainless and titanium. Don't use it on aluminum, which sticks to this coating.

Each kit's six adapters match these shanks: one 6 mm and five 4 mm. You don't need a separate adapter pack for the kit's own cutters.
If you plan to cut both aluminum and harder metals, you'd need both kits, since the two coatings aren't interchangeable.
The Advanced Material Bundle (stainless and titanium) pairs with the Advanced kit. The Starter Material Bundle (aluminum and POM) pairs with the Starter kit.
Source: a post in the ToolDance X1 Official Group on Facebook by a group member. ToolDance's own graphics only say "6 tools + 6 tool adapters", so confirm the contents on the campaign page. The ball nose shank sizes were partly cut off in the screenshot and read as 4 mm.

How these numbers work

Prices come from ToolDance's Kickstarter pricing graphics for the X1, its bundles and add-ons. Each bundle's stated MSRP equals the sum of its items' MSRPs, which cross-checks the item prices.
"Modules later at MSRP" assumes you pledge for the X1 on Kickstarter and buy every module afterwards at MSRP. "All MSRP" includes the X1 at its $5,999 MSRP.
VIP takes $200 off the X1 tier or bundle you pledge for, once. It doesn't apply to add-ons or to anything bought after the campaign, so the gaps between routes stay the same.
The base X1 and every bundle come with the same starter accessories, so bundles add no extras beyond the modules. Extra accessories are priced as Kickstarter add-ons, or at MSRP when bought later.
The X1 takes tool shanks up to 10 mm, but no 10 mm adapter pack is listed. Check which adapters your cutters need before buying a set.
Before pledging, confirm on the live campaign that the add-on you need can be combined with your chosen tier, and check shipping. The 5-axis module was described as a development preview in September.
